Saturday mornings from 6.30-9am we have a fabulous selection of great cartoons to entertain the kids.

One of the best parodies of alien invasion has to be the cartoon series Invader Zim. Zim is one of the funniest, most melodramatic aliens ever written. Despite his access to mind-boggling technologies and scientific skills, he’s proved utterly inept at actually conquering Earth on his own. Hampering his efforts–or more likely just wasting his time–is his robot assistant, GIR, whose child-like mentality only infuriates the already bitter Zim. Yet in spite of his painfully obvious alien nature, Zim in his human disguise seems to pass quite easily among the human race, even while loudly and comically declaring his coming lordship over their world. Screening from May 5th at 7:00am |

The Angry Beavers 8:00am
|
When their parents have another litter, the Norbert (the smart one) and Daggett (the stupid one) Beaver have to strike out on their own. Their new home on a lake in middle of the forest seems to be the scene of most every odd occurrence imaginable. The two beavers have to deal with wacko government scientists, 100-foot walking splinters, super-long teeth, a fish so big it can swallow a Swede, a giant cricket, the dreaded stinky toe, evil mind-controlling pond scum, a Swamp Witch, zombies, Mexican wrestlers, lying documentary-film makers, a stupidity potion, a big fat hairy naked Canadian, and a too-friendly robot, along with many other problems. In the midst of all this, Norb and Dag satisfy their love of Grade-Z 50's sci-fi, hot peppers, Yoo-hoo, and, of course, wood. Screening from April 28th at 8:00am |

The series features comedic fights between an iconic set of enemies, a house cat and mouse. Tom's numerous attempts to capture Jerry rarely succeed, mainly because of Jerry's cleverness, cunning abilities, and luck. Despite this, there are also several instances within the cartoons where they display genuine friendship and concern for each other's well-being. Other times the pair would have to set aside their rivalry in order to pursue a common goal, such as a baby who escaped the watch of a negligent teen babysitter, and both Tom and Jerry would need to pursue the baby and keep it away from danger. |
